Our Year 5 Raspberry Pi finalists had a wonderful day at the Science Museum in London on Thursday. The children were selected to be one of ten teams to compete in the final out of over three hundred submissions! They were able to demonstrate their product: a room humidity sensor which provides real time advice on when to turn on ventilation systems or open windows. The children had an exciting time exploring the ‘Wonderlab’, discussing their product with judges and networking with leading industry figures. They had a long discussion with TV presenter Ortis Deley formerly of ‘Live and Kicking’ and now ‘The Gadget Show’ and their photo even made it onto Sky News! Thank you to Mr Boddy and Mrs Orife who inspired them during their planning sessions through last term and Miss Robertson who also helped to organise and accompany them on their trip. It was a great achievement to get this far in a national competition and one that the children should be proud of.
