A team-based workshop designed to develop students’ debating and critical thinking skills, culminating in a short friendly debate. Open to KS2 (ideal for Year 5 and 6).

Event Details

Date & Time: Friday, 21st November, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Location: Clayton Sports Hall, Jesmond
Format: Open to teams of 5, with schools welcome to enter multiple teams

Tailored for Key Stage 2, the workshop will focus on:

Understanding Debate: Mastering debate structure and strategies
Evidencing Arguments: Crafting strong, evidence-based points
Public Speaking: Building confidence and delivery skills
Listening and Responding: Developing active listening and rebuttal abilities
Teamwork: Collaborating effectively within teams

This event is designed to inspire confidence and collaboration in a supportive environment.

We will include a short break to allow packed lunches to be eaten and to play outside (weather permitting).
