Educational Visits

Every week children from at least one part of school will be out and about!

The range of activities is vast and age appropriate. Children gain so much from 'hands on' experiences and at NPS, children are encouraged to explore, investigate and discover!

Some of the places we visit for workshops, investigations, discovery or research

  • Centre for Life
  • Discovery Museum
  • The Great North Museum
  • DLI museum in Durham
  • Beamish
  • Newcastle University
  • Grace Darling Museum in Bamburgh
  • Kielder Reservoir
  • St Mary's Island
  • Blue Reef Aquarium
  • Dove Marine Laboratory
  • Allensford - River Derwent
  • Washingto Wildfowl Park
  • River Tyne - cruise
  • Segedunum Roman Fort
  • The Roman Wall
  • Washington Old Hall
  • York - Viking Centre
  • Alnwick Castle
  • Seven Stories
  • Theatre Royal
  • Northern Stage
  • The Sage

NPS children enjoy residential visits to:

  • Keswick - Glaramara Outdoor Activity Centre
  • Alston - Robinwood Activity Centre
  • Amsterdam - Cycling
  • Voss, Norway - skiing

Within a warm, caring environment everyone feels 'at home' so that reaching full potential is a way of life here.
