In learning outside the classroom, Year 6 were asked to create a 3 by 3 grid using natural resources and fill it with the numbers 1-9, again, using natural objects. Their task was to arrange the numbers so that each row, column and diagonal added to 15. This proved very frustrating but after much perseverance, problem-solving and paired work, they were successful. A fantastic application of maths and reasoning outside of the classroom!
